Christians around the world are being persecuted for being Christians. They are not asked what day they worship on. They are not asked if they believe in infant baptism or if they believe in eternal security. They are placed in prison for who they believe in--Jesus Christ. This is not a mock up. And this is not a Seventh-day Adventist. It is Father Ly, a Vietnamese Catholic priest who was seized and imprisoned for publicly speaking about Christ.

Persecution of the church is scriptural. We’re told we’ll have to give an account for our faith in Jesus. But confusing kids over what it’s really about is SO wrong. I have gladly participated in church youth groups getting a feel for the way Believers in China have to meet secretly to worship. I’ve shared with those kids my personal experiences in worshipping with them, about spiritual brothers & sisters who’ve agonized in prisons for years, seen their scars, noticed that they no longer have finger nails . . . Yes—persecution is real and it’s happening now and it impacted me in ways I ‘m still coming to grips with. But we cannot teach them the doctrinal error that our fellow Believers will be the ones attacking us. How divisive to the body!
Is this the priest made a bishop in China by the Holy See?
This is what real Christian persecution is. Period.

Ok. The Holy See announced a bishop in China and he was "detained" shortly after that announcement.
