Revelation Today--SDA Pastor John Bradshaw's Series

Ah, this ongoing series brings back so many childhood memories--as this is exactly the same Revelation Seminars the SDA church has always put on. I  thought something would be new, something other than the newest world tragedies.

This is the exact same program format and topics, the same its-so-obvious-and-Biblical--no-question-about-it-delivery as has been done all over the SDA world for the last fifty years. Same world-toppling scare tactics, same bogey-man. The only thing missing is the Seventh-day Adventist name. But, interestingly, the name of the church sponsoring on the program has been missing for several of the last Revelation seminars.
I will spare you all the observations I had about the down-undah enthusiastic Pastor John Bradshaw, (they were all good) and Yves Monnier the host at the Las Vegas Cashman Center (I’m sure he is a nice guy).
Let’s be honest. The whole thing is about the Sabbath in these seminars, all else is just the golden halo around it. The Sabbath doctrine, if wrong, is where Adventism stands or falls. For them it is the cornerstone of their theology. Without it all their raison d’etre would be crying “Jesus is coming again, soon” along with every other denomination out there.

Why not just tackle that subject and be done with it.

You see, Adventists very subtly set up false premises then prove the false premises wrong and shout victory. For those not educated in scripture and who don’t ponder what is being taught, it is all shivers and good bumps awaiting the end of time when Adventists become top billing in the cosmic horror show, Armageddon.

Yet if we examine what is taught, seeing where a little is added here and there to scripture, a slight shift in the direction, a tiny misinterpretation--we will see how that shift can lead you completely off the road into a theological ditch. And a dark scary one too!
Watch how it is done:

1st wrong premise: The Church claim is that the “Everlasting gospel” of the Third Angel’s Message in Revelation is a different gospel, a different end time message than that of Christ and the Apostles.

Wrong: The Greek word agonies (everlasting) means “since the beginning, without beginning and end” so this is not something new. The word for gospel is
eujaggevlion and is the exact same word used throughout the New Testament for the gospel proclaimed by Jesus Christ and the Apostles. This isn’t anything different. It means The Messiah is God and came as a human to suffer, die and be resurrected for our sins. Nothing anywhere at all about Sabbath in that.
This new and everlasting gospel (different from what the Apostles passed on) was given to the Seventh-day Adventists alone. They claim that in the last days there will be a divide between those who worship God the Creator and those who worship the creation. Well enough, okay on the idea that Christians and non-Christians will divide on how creation occurred. But then they add something outside of anything in scripture.

2nd wrong premise: Then the church links this true and false worship of the creation back to the story of Genesis claiming that on the seventh day God gave us a day rest as an eternal commandment.
There is nothing in the Genesis story that says the 7th day was a literal day. Please go back and read a fascinating fact. All the other days had an evening and morning. Not so with the seventh day as it was supposed to be an eternal day of rest. The idea of the day being a weekly day of rest is an addition to the text.
Little shifts, little shifts set them on a totally wrong course!
3rd wrong premise: Then Pastor Bradshaw jumps to the Ten Commandments. And claims that because they were written on stone means it is an eternal covenant for all time.

Another false assumption. If you do a word search you will find that throughout the Old Testament, many times, stone and rock symbolize God himself, not an eternal covenant.

Also if they writing them on a stone was supposed to mean how eternal they were, why would Moses smash them after leaving the presence of God? God wasn't upset with him for doing it either. I would think if the stones had that kind of symbolism, God would have mentioned to Moses to care for them a little better.
4th wrong premise: The weekly Sabbath was an eternal sign. (Bradshaw uses Ezekiel 20: 12 for proof.)
Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.
But please note that the sabbaths are a sign--the high annuals sabbaths as well as the weekly sabbaths. (See Deu. 6: 1, 8; 11: 18; 28: 46)
These sabbath signs for Israel absolutely including Passover:
Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to Jehovah.... And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of Jehovah may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath Jehovah brought thee out of Egypt. Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year. Ex. 13: 6-10
So if the sabbaths are a sign for everyone, then we should be keeping all the sabbaths, the annual, monthly and weekly.

5th wrong premise: That the Sabbath was not just for Israel alone, but all of us, even today. Again, the Bible would disagree with the SDA church on this claim.
Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily ye shall keep my sabbaths: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Jehovah who sanctifieth you. Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that profaneth it shall surely be put to death; for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, holy to Jehovah: whosoever doeth any work on the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Jehovah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.  Ex. 31: 13-17
There are some important things to note about this. Though God reckons the Sabbath back to creation, He also does not include anyone else in the sabbath requirement making it between God and the children of Israel forever.

The fact that God sanctified a day at creation doesn’t mean it was meant to be universal. And keep in mind that anyone who profanes the day is to be put to death. If Adventists really believed that the sabbath requirement was for Christians today, they would then have to impose the death penalty.

Bradshaw quipped that “they weren’t Ten suggestions.” Well Pastor Bradshaw, we have to be honest with the text, the commandment to put to death anyone who profanes the sabbath is not a suggestion. It is a direct command.

6th wrong premise: Then Pastor Bradshaw jumped to the New Testament and reminded us that Jesus didn’t come to destroy the law, but fulfill it.

And that is exactly what He did at the cross.

For the SDAs to teach that we are still required to keep Sabbath is saying that Jesus didn’t fulfill the law at the Cross. Hebrews tells us that the Sabbath was a shadow fulfilled in Christ
But, he asks, “Are we now allowed to kill? Steal?  Jesus didn’t do away with the Ten Commandment law.

Right, and wrong.

Jesus expanded the Old Covenant at the same time He fulfilled it.
The Temple sacrifice--with all its rituals and ordinations--wasn't done away with, but replaced by a much better, in fact, perfect one-time sacrifice of God's only Son. God didn't get rid of them, He fulfilled them. The Ten Commandments were, like the sacrifices, pointing to a permanent, eternal Covenant with a new and better set of laws.

Look at Jesus’ words. “You have heard it said” These are not the words of someone reiterating the gravity of the law--Jesus didn’t even source it as God’s! He just spoke, “You have heard it said, ‘you shall not...’ But I SAY.” This is Jesus taking authority over His Ten Commandments and changing them, reforming them, making them into the more perfect law of the New Covenant. They are better--expanded. But different.

How did Jesus expand the fourth? Adventist might claim that He didn’t say anything about that one. Yet he didn’t say anything about stealing either, but it was expanded. Now we are to give rather than receive. Now we are to give our cloak instead of our shirt when someone tried to rob us of what is rightfully ours. Later Jesus will say “come all ye who are weary and I will give you rest.
Hebrews tells us that the sabbath shadow was fulfilled in Christ. Sabbath hasn’t disappeared but our Sabbath rest is Christ, the day has expanded to a forever day--an eternal day of rest from the Creation account itself. The curse has been lifted and the original creation plan of an eternal rest with a 7th day without an "evening and morning” has finally been fulfilled in Christ.
It isn’t wrong to keep a day that is a rest once a week. That is fine. In fact Paul says:

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days. Col 2:16
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike]. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind. Rom. 14: 5

7th wrong premise: Then Pastor Bradshaw makes the false assumption that since the Apostles went to the synagogue, they were keeping sabbath. This is just full of erroneous assumptions.
The Apostles worshipped everyday and preached daily. Being in a synagogue on Sabbath isn’t keeping the Sabbath commandment to rest. It is showing up where Jews will be.

Adventists draw a direct line between a Sabbath rest and someone going to a synagogue on Sabbath (as if worshipping and resting are one in the same). This is a non-sequitor.

There is not one shred of evidence in the Bible post resurrection that the Apostles rested on Sabbath or commanded anyone to rest on Sabbath. The 4th commandment is a requirement for Israel to rest.
8th wrong premise: The pastor claims that Jesus' warning to pray that the Hebrew’s flight out of Jerusalem in the last days not be in winter or the sabbath (Matt.24:20) is a slam dunk for proving sabbatarianism post-Cross. Yet, this is hardly proof. Christ knew that His followers would be preaching in the Temple every day (Acts 2:46). The slaughter the Romans could acheive would be most devastating on Sabbath because so many Jews would be there too. It is a prayer for Jews because it would be especially hard for them to flee if caught inside the Temple on Sabbath, in winter or if they were pregnant.

It isn’t calling on his disciples to keep the sabbath as a perpetual sign. We know the Apostles were in the temple daily!
So the warning wasn’t pray to keep from being attacked on an obligatory sabbath service, but as intercession for their brother Israel.

Get a life! You need to find something positive to say in life rather than trying to be negative about something you obviously haven't studied properly for yourself!

Teresa Beem said...

So exactly what was negative? I disagreed with the SDA position but I wasn't disagreeable. In fact I complimented the host and speaker.

Methinks thy protest is that any proper scholarship would most humbly and inevitably bring one to place laurels at the feet of the self-inscribed remnant. Nay, protest I. For a dark and sinister controversy thou hailest as great, and darker yet thy misapprehension of the power of a gospel devote and faithful is quite plainly there as nose to face within the God-breathed written Word.

Really? You spent that might time observing and trying to find faults in someone that is trying to teach others about the Bible? Why don't you do something useful with your life, (first of all, study the Bible, not preachers), and get out there and start telling others about Jesus!

Teresa Beem said...

Dear Anonymous,

With love I share the following observation....

The SDA church just spent thousands and thousands of dollars, perhaps hundreds and hundred of hours to put on a series of lectures to tell what were probably already Christians that they should keep the Sabbath and flee Babylon--which is any church that observes Sunday as a celebration of Christ's resurrection.

It seems that your entire church was founded upon observing and finding fault with with other Christians who are simply teaching others about the Bible.

If your church stopped criticism of other churches it would cease to be a different denomination. Your doctrinal position is based upon telling others they are wrong and in Babylon. Your church targets Catholics and other Protestants to remove them from their church and make them Seventh-day Adventists.

Please, and again, I mean this in the spirit of brotherly love and Christian concern, please--if stopping others from finding fault with your denomination is a passion of yours--I would suggest that your first crusade should be to go to your church heads and tell them to "get our there and start telling others about Jesus."

Those of us our here would have nothing to write about if your church would cease attempting to steal our church members based on false theology and twisted history.

We have the right to fight back against your ungodly attack. I am sorry that disturbs you, but it is the truth. God have mercy on us all.

WOW!!! Praise the Lord! I just can't get over how amazing my Jesus is to work all things out for good in so many different ways for those who love Him! Thank You Lord Jesus! I just can't help but specifically list the reasons for my praises below.

1) As a grateful member of this small, but most rapidly growing Christian denomination in the entire world, we Seventh-day Adventists are well aware that name recognition is an important aspect of most efficiently sharing our end-time truth-packed message with the entire world. I want to thank you for contributing so generously to the mission of our church by spending your own money to advance our need for name recognition. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

2) Thank you for helping to dispel the potential misconception that Seventh-day Adventists teach that no person other than their members are eligible for salvation through Jesus Christ's sacrifice and ministry. What an important service you are providing for us! I just can't thank you enough for this!

3) Thank you for giving me another reason to lift my head up high and praise the Lord for yet another fullfilment of Bible prophecy-Revelation 12:17. Satan must be really really really angry enough to shoot himself in the foot again as he has done in this attempt t, through you, to demonstrate his rage towards God's remnant SDA church. From your reader comments it is quite apparent I may have misunderstood your intentions towards members of my dear remnant SDA church. Nevertheless, that doesn't deprive me of having yet this third reason praise my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ .
The concept behind the title of your book is nothing new. Satan used that same concept when he approached Eve in the Garden of Eden. Before that, Lucifer in heaven used that same concept in his attempts to be persuade the other angels to doubt God in the war in heaven before Lucifer and his followers were expelled. Yes, in case you think I'm extending this analogy too far, I DO regard the teachings of the SDA church to be the most truthful of all Bible based groups on the earth today. You might as well have titled your book, "It's okay not to believe God".
My sincere desire for you and any one else who has been or currently is a Seventh-day Adventist is that you focus on developing a trusting saving relationship with Jesus Christ is your first goal and ongoing goal. Accept the challenge of Jesus in John 7:17. Soon, the Holy Spirit will break through your blind eyes and dull mind with convicting power that makes everything you believe in life make perfect sense.
That has been my experience. The more I study the Bible, the more the Holy Spirit convinces me that it is not just OK to be a Seventh-day Adventist, but that it is definitely NOT OK not to be a Seventh-day Adventist, once you have learned the truths about Jesus that the SDA church teaches. Hebrews 10:27.
I would never want to give up the peace and contentment and joy and comfort and satisfaction I have found in my trusting relationship with Jesus Christ. You could never convince me that it is ok to give up the truth I have found in the teachings of the SDA church which have fostered such a beautiful caring loving contented peaceful walk with my Jesus. I wish the same for you Teresa and anyone else who has doubts about the validity of the teachings of the SDA church.
Your comments about John Bradshaw’s presentations are false. Your analysis of his teachings lack the most basic fundamentals of logic. Your attempts at arguments are hole-riddled with errors. Give yourself a break and find rest and peace in a satisfying fullfiling trusting relationship with Jesus instead of spending your time fighting God.
Have a blessed day, and thanks again for your help.

Soooo, it looks like the only comments you approve for posting may be those that are not too strongly opposed to your viewpoint. But, perhaps I should wait a few more days before reaching such a conclusion regarding my earlier post today.

I am happy that you are happy. God isn't calling everyone to leave Adventism. And I wish you all the blessings in the world.

The SDA Church does NOT teach that this is a "new" Gospel at all. In fact the SDA Church recognizes more than any other church I have come across, that the Gospel is consistent in the OT just as much as the NT. The OT teaches we are saved by grace through faith just as the NT. For most, the common belief is that salvation came by way of the law and when Jesus came He somehow brought us a new way of being saved (i.e. grace).

So again, as usual, you do not represent the Adventist view accurately. You do this all the time, and I find it dishonest (of Satan) that you must use such deception to prop up your'e view. So again, I have to ask, with all the inaccurate statements you make about Adventism, are you sure you were really an Adventist?

Teresa Beem said...

Arik,

Since there is no mention in the Bible about a woman prophetess arising to give a new "eternal" message,

Since there is nothing in scripture about anything in heaven or on earth happening in 1844,

Since there is nothing in scripture that says the three angels' of Revelation is a church,

Since the scriptures say nothing about the "commandments" as being the Ten Commandments,

Since there is nothing in scripture about the last day having a final test about a Sabbath rest,

AND

Since there is nothing in scripture about those worshipping on Sunday receiving the Mark of the Beast,

I think those of us out here can confidently state that the SDA claim that their message is "one from the beginning" that nobody else ever thought of, heard of, or found within scripture....is wrong.

The SDA Third angels' message is not only a very recent addition to scripture, it is also a dangerous addition to the true gospel. Paul warned us about that when he said, "If anyone comes preaching a different gospel.. may he be condemned to hell!" Paul's words not mine to the Galatians in the first chapter.

Arik, your church's interpretation of Daniel and Revelation defies logic, history and scholarly hermeneutics. I am not trying to be mean-spirited, and I hope I am not coming across that way--I just happen to be passionate about Truth.

You have been taught that which is not true my friend and I will be praying for you.

I would not take time to write these things if I were not deeply concerned for you and the SDA church. Good good people, bad doctrine.

Time for the Body of Christ to unify in Spirit and in Truth.

God bless you brother.

Teresa, if you knew history, you would know that Constantine the Great back in 352 AD changed the Sabbath law to Sunday because he woke from a dream and saw a star. That the star was a cross, and that he killed Jews for worshipping on the Sabbath because he wanted to make Sunday the Lord's day, or commonly known as the venerable day of the Sungod. You know if you had studied history you would not be an Adventist basher. Get a grip chick, go back and study history and get your facts straight!!!!

Teresa Beem said...

Karen,

Constantine is irrelevant. The Christian church has always worshipped on Sunday. The Bible even tells us this (Acts 2:46). The early Christians met daily and we know from many, many contemporary writings that the church did not consider Saturday a mandatory rest day. This is from the time of the Apostles. So Constantine's Edict of Tolerance and all other laws served only to stop the persecution of Christians. He did not establish a Sabbath nor take one away.

Christians worshipped every single day, but Sunday was special because of the Resurrection.

Read our book, Karen, ten chapters follow the development of the Saturday/Sunday observances of the church.

God bless, Teresa

Karen said...

Teresa: You are wrong! First of all, if Jesus himself went to synogue on the Sabbath each week, from the writing of Isiah he preached. It also very much states that in the Bible the fourth commandment says: "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, Six days you shall labor; but the 7TH day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. I mean for real here; if he himself rested and made holy the Seventh day why would it not be for us to make it a day of rest? It is the only commandment that says
:Remember.. It does not say to worship on the first day of the week which is Sunday. And since God created days and nights, don't you think he would know the end of the week? Ok, have you ever looked in a Catholic's rules? It states that they had the right to change the day of worship to Sunday. There is to them no reason other than they changed it and Constantine did back in 352 AD. Where do Catholics get off changing a day of worship? God is the only one, and guess what he didn't change it when he resurrected. No where in the Bible does it state that when he arose on Sunday, he changed the day we are to go to church. Another reason is Friday was a preparation day, Jesus himself rested on the Sabbath in the tomb, and Sunday he arose. Read Rev 13, it depicts that there are two powerful "beasts" that will institute a false manner of worship and the beasts will command people to bow to this "image". Those who don't will be economically boycotted financially. The Catholic was the one that all religeons came out of, they broke off from all the rules and regulations. People have studied the Bible, and since it states in the Catholic rules that there is no reason a person should worship on Sunday, that Saturday is the day of worship. They say they have power. It is counterfeit worship based upon pagan worship. This counterfeit worship contradicts God's law.

Teresa Beem said...

Karen,

Again, I researched the subject for five years and wrote extensively about it in our book. I think if you read it you will find that neither the Bible nor history supports the SDA claim.

Jesus kept ALL the Sabbaths, Karen, including the High Annual Sabbaths in which not only rest was required but a mandatory corporate worship service. That was not required on the weekly Sabbaths. These annual High Sabbaths often occurred on Sundays. So there is Biblical precedence for Sunday services.

Jesus himself worshipped on Sundays because of these High Annual Sabbaths. So if Jesus rested and worshipped on Sunday, it would never be wrong for us to.

Karen, I taught in SDA Sabbath Schools, I was very active in SDA church and went through all years of SDA schooling and graduated from their universities. I am well aware of exactly what they teach.

The SDA church teaches erroneous history and rejects the New Covenant. SDAs ignore the fact that the entire Old Testament structure of ceremonies and laws were set in place in order to prepare a people to birth the Messiah. ALL of it was to point to HIM. Hebrews tells us these things were shadows fulfilled in Christ. Christ is our Sabbath rest.

It was in the context of the weekly Sabbath that Jesus said, "Come unto ME all you who are weary and are heavy laden and I WILL GIVE YOU REST."

Christ is, at that moment, saying that He is the Sabbath.

Catholics do not celebrate Sunday as a new 7th day sabbath. They celebrate it because it was the day Jesus rose. Jesus chose that day, not Catholics!

You do realize Karen, that this same argument was going on during Paul's lifetime and he clearly addresses it in his letter.

Romans 14:5: "One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind."

There are only TWO things the Bible gives us the option to do or not to do. Only two. And interestingly it is sabbath days and eating meat! Adventists kinda go rogue on insisting those two things are moral issues for the Christian when Paul clearly says they are not.

Karen, if you are interested in really doing some historical verification of what happened during the Apostle's time about the Sabbath (For no one other than CHRIST HIMSELF told the Apostles they could celebrate Sunday) first get our book and read it and then research the sources.

They are all readily available. The SDA church doesn't have the correct historical information and are unfortunately passing on some pretty grave errors without even knowing it. I know their ignorance is based on trusting Ellen's writings. That is their source of authoritative information. Sadly, she is very wrong.

God bless you Karen. And I hope I have not inspired anger in you... for Christ wan't His people united--not divided.

Karen said...

If you want to send me your book, then okay. At this time I am having to pay alot of medical bills. Let me know. I am not angry, I just don't agree with you and unfortunately I lost a best friend over this same subject. I guess we could always agree to disagree.

Teresa Beem said...

Karen,
I wish I could send you one. I have given away almost 500 books to people who told me they couldn't afford them and I also paid for the postage.

At this time I am completely out of personal copies and I would have to purchase them at the full price. Wish I could afford to do that.

God bless and yes, I think we can leave it at we agree to disagree.

So sad, all I see are the same hollow arguments. If the apostles were already keeping Sunday as there day of rest in honor of the resurrection (not found anywhere in the Bible because this is done by baptism, the death of the old man of sin resurrected to a new life in Christ), then why would Paul and Barnabas make the Gentiles wait until the next Sabbath to preach to them, why not just say in verse 42 to come back tomorrow (Acts 13:42-44). And not the only instance, also in the Greek city of Philippi they kept the Sabbath,(Acts 16:13) Also Acts 17:2 shows that it was Paul's custom to keep the Sabbath, three times, in Thessalonica. Just common sense should tell you the Sabbath was not changed. Just look at the controversy from the Jewish Christians when circumcision was done away with. Can't you understand the turmoil that would have arisen if the Sabbath was changed, a day so special to the Jews that they had 600 + ridiculous laws on how it was to be kept, such as breaking the sabbath if you carried lint in your pocket because you were carrying a burden. Yet there is no discussion of it whatsoever. Which proves it never happened, as Acts shows. If you have found a verse telling you to keep Sunday holy, I will become your best friend because I can make you very rich. Nice Article. I was just watching John Bradshaw talk about this book on television and becamse suspicious when he wouldn't elaborate.
I've notice that Adventists hold views held by no one else in Christiandom. I guess they feel that they have some secret truth that the rest of us have missed. This is especially notable in the doctrine of the investigative judgement. (I challenge any Adventist to provide proof for this corrupt doctrince from Scripture IN CONTEXT of the passage at hand. Its just not there and it cannot be exegeted from scripture.)
The fact that they proudly claim to be the "true chruch" by implications insinuates that everybody else is wrong. (Isn't "we are the true church" the same mantra of the Mormans use?) Such things are a indicators that define sectarianism for sure. This denomination are NOT evangelicals, as much as they would like to appear to be.

Very sad reading this comment and reminded of this: 1Co_2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

So what we are looking at is the sad spectacle of people talking about the Spirit but denying the Spirit through ignorance. Again, Joh 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

This is gross ignorance of people who are "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. "2Ti_3:7.

Back of this wilful ignorance is the rejection of the Commandments of God in general and of the Sabbath in particular.

The book of Revelation clearly states that the MAIN issue in the run up to the Second Coming will be WORSHIP and that the lines will be drawn between God who say we should REMEMBER the 7th Day SABBATH DAY to keep it HOLY because He is the Creator of HEAVEN AND EARTH. In opposition is Satan the self styled god threatening to kill everyone who refuse to keep the first day of the week, SUNDAY!!

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

What the above is simply saying is that if you decide to rebel against God's commandment to keep HIS Day, you will receive Satan's mark in your forehead. On the other hand, if you disagree with the enforcement of Satan's Sunday rebellion but compelled to go along because of sanction, not being allowed to buy or sell, then you will receive the mark in the right hand. The right hand indicating that you were forced into it without consenting in your mind.

So finally when all this has come to pass all those who persist in the current expressions of ignorance will only end in weeping and gnashing of teeth when it is too late.

Heb 3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Heb 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation...

Since you say the sabbath is not necessary what do you suggest...the traditional Sunday that the Catholic Church established as a memorial to the ressurection? Seriously if SDA is wrong about keeping Sabbath why complain because according to you we only need to accept Jesus as the Lamb and what He teaches and we will all be saved...Correct??????????

Anonymous,
The Sabbath was fulfilled in Christ. There is no Sabbath day in the New Covenant (unless you wish to argue every day is a sabbath). In fact, Catholics understand this and do not celebrate Sunday as a Sabbath but, as you wrote, the Lord's day which points back to when our Lord rose from the dead. Sunday isn't Sabbath. That is a basic misunderstanding not just for Adventists but many fundamentalists. Many Christians have become theologically lazy about this idea because it really doesn't matter to them if technically Sunday is a Sabbath or not.

No one here is complaining. The SDA church's whole purpose is to make Christians sabbatarians. They spend millions of dollars a year trying to convince others that the Sabbath is supposed to be honored. There are few out there who actively try to explain why Adventists are biblically wrong. Sincere Adventists do not understand why anyone would actively contradict their message. Well, if it is against the Word of God, then we are obligated to say or write why it is erroneous. Nothing against Adventists themselves, but error should be refuted.

Teresa,
Thank you for your clear and concise biblical view of the Gospel of Jesus. I pray for all those who have been misled by the teaching of the SDA and their elephant in the closet-Ellen White. The SDA church is built on deception and the twisting of the scriptures. What other faith draws people in without revealing to them Ellen White their prophetess, until well into the conversion process. God is not about deception, but rather TRUTH.
