SCANS OF 19th CENTURY NEWS CLIPPINGS OF MILLERITE MOVEMENT

Since our book has been out on Amazon.com, we decided to scan into this blog several of the newspaper clippings we found at the Library of Congress. We think all Adventists and former Adventists will find them fascinating.

The New Hampshire Patriot article (7 Nov. 1844) is especially interesting... and prophetic. Thank you for posting these. It paints a much different picture than "Early Writings" did.

Most people have no idea about what happened in the 19th century Millerite Movement. Our book documents many more reports of murders, suicides and devastation because of the Great Disappointment of 1844.

This is the third time I've tried to leave a response regarding William Miller's influence to Adventist. He was a Second Advent preacher that never did accept keeping the seventh-day Sabbath as 'the' day of worship, but having been a Deist and converted to Baptist, referred to Sunday as Sabbath. God used him in a great way to bring light to the first angel's message found in Revelation 14. To use the references found in the newspaper articles to discredit current Seventh-day Adventist worshippers can not in any way further the work God intends for us to do. They have no relationship to one another.
